Northern Quarter | Tauranga

Northern Quarter is a landmark mixed-use development in Tauranga, that has transformed a prominent city block into a vibrant commercial and residential destination. Asset Engineering was engaged to provide a complete design, fabrication and installation solution for a range of bespoke architectural metalwork elements throughout the project, contributing both functional performance and visual identity to the development.

Working closely with Watts & Hughes, Asset Engineering delivered an integrated package of architectural steelwork and specialist metalwork, coordinating design intent through to final installation while ensuring compliance with all relevant engineering and consent requirements.

Asset Engineering was responsible for the design, documentation, fabrication, supply and installation of a range of architectural metalwork features throughout the development, including:

• Architectural screening elements

• External bollards

• Internal balustrades

• External balustrades

• Feature lighting structures

• Handrails

• Associated secondary structural steelwork

Deliverables

The project scope included:

• Detailed shop drawings and design coordination

• PS1, PS3 and PS4 producer statements

• Supporting consent documentation

• Fabrication of architectural metalwork elements

• Supply and installation of façade components

• Secondary structural steel supply and installation

• Surface finishing including powdercoating, galvanising and specialist paint systems

• Site installation and coordination with the main contractor

• As-built documentation and project handover
